I think it’s safe to say that after the year we’ve all had, we are ready for some nice weather and being able to get outside! Covid-19 has created havoc in all of our lives in one way or another. Whether you got sick, a friend or loved one got sick, you lost someone you love to the virus, or your life was just all over disrupted. With or without Covid, this is the time of the year that we all find ourselves wanting to clean and start fresh. We start to make summer plans, vacation reservations and our minds feel healthier because of this sense of freedom. The world we are living in is still very scary right now and we aren’t completely out of the woods. However, getting out into nature has been and still is one of the safest and healthiest things that we can do for ourselves and our families. Being outside, in the nice weather, increases serotonin in our brains, which promotes the feeling of well being and also increases our exposure to vitamins that our body very much needs. Some easy things to do are: bike riding, hiking, small one day road trips to cool places near you, renting a boat for the day, gardening, going to the park, and just sitting in your own yard with a good book. I have definitely started with the Spring cleaning! If you’re feeling restless, and you’re a Mom so you always feel that way, get outside! Do something that is mentally healthy for you and your family. We can’t be good Mommas if we don’t take care of ourselves first! Times will get better sooner rather than later. We just have to hold on for a little bit longer and we can all get through this!
